Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.07% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 3.71% or 0.1420 points to trade at 3.9740 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 3.35% or 0.410 points to end at 12.660 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.72% or 0.0063 points to 0.2375 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 12.99% or 0.097 points to trade at 0.650 in late trade. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 1.34% or 0.0440 points to end at 3.2400 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) shed 1.20% or 0.039 points to 3.200.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 27 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.93% or 0.47 to $50.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.01% or 0.49 to hit $47.87 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.79% or 10.01 to trade at $1277.01 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.1273, while EUR/GBP rose 0.53% to 0.8750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 96.69.
