Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 3.17% or 0.0240 points to trade at 0.7810 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 3.16% or 0.1060 points to end at 3.4560 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 3.12% or 0.3700 points to 12.2250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 4.10% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.1870 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.51% or 0.0187 points to end at 1.2213 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 0.55% or 0.0700 points to 12.5950.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 27 to 22 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.02% or 0.50 to $48.40 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.80% or 0.87 to hit $47.37 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.15% or 1.85 to trade at $1211.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.0624, while EUR/GBP rose 0.62% to 0.8560.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 101.11.
