Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which rose 2.34% or 0.0260 points to trade at 1.1370 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 1.89% or 0.1170 points to end at 6.2960 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 1.10% or 0.1300 points to 11.9950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 2.73% or 0.0009 points to trade at 0.0321 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 2.39% or 0.0760 points to end at 3.1050 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) shed 1.59% or 0.0440 points to 2.7160.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 24 to 20 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 0.49% or 0.24 to $49.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.89% or 0.43 to hit $48.74 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.75 to trade at $1273.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1273, while EUR/GBP fell 1.38% to 0.7715.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 94.73.
