Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 1.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 8.55% or 0.0026 points to trade at 0.0330 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 3.87% or 0.1250 points to end at 3.3540 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 3.43% or 0.0580 points to 1.7480 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which lost 0.77% or 0.0510 points to trade at 6.5390 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 0.13% or 0.0100 points to end at 8.0070 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) gained 0.16% or 0.0110 points to 6.8420.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 42 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.23% or 0.60 to $49.21 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.86% or 0.42 to hit $49.04 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.47% or 5.75 to trade at $1223.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1154, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.7591.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 95.46.
