Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.25% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 7.50% or 0.0195 points to trade at 0.2795 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 5.54% or 0.2100 points to end at 4.0000 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.68% or 0.0075 points to 0.2875 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which lost 1.95% or 0.1350 points to trade at 6.7850 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 1.23% or 0.150 points to end at 12.000 and Semapa (LS:SEM) 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 17.8600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 30 to 5 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.52% or 1.01 to $67.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.79% or 1.08 to hit $61.45 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 1.30 to trade at $1317.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.2024, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8894.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 91.82.
