Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 2.61% or 0.1300 points to trade at 5.1100 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 2.47% or 0.0790 points to end at 3.2720 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 2.34% or 0.3750 points to 16.4000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 2.83% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.3780 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 1.12% or 0.1850 points to end at 16.3700 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 1.01% or 0.0510 points to 5.0230.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 25 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 2.04% or 1.14 to $56.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.64% or 0.82 to hit $50.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.39 to trade at $1275.41 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.1710, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8917.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 93.73.
