Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 3.67% or 0.0390 points to trade at 1.1030 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 2.25% or 0.5000 points to end at 22.7500 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 2.25% or 0.1800 points to 8.1800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which lost 3.59% or 0.400 points to trade at 10.750 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.87% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.2620 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 1.55% or 0.180 points to 11.400.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 14 to 13 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.49% or 0.37 to $75.01 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.18% or 0.77 to hit $64.75 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.70 to trade at $1303.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.61% to 1.1784, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 93.53.
