Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.32% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 7.01% or 0.2030 points to trade at 3.1000 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 4.08% or 0.0094 points to end at 0.2398 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 2.04% or 0.0070 points to 0.3500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 1.45% or 0.0740 points to trade at 5.0180 in late trade. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 1.31% or 0.0690 points to end at 5.1940 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 0.96% or 0.1450 points to 14.9250.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 15 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.59% or 0.34 to $57.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.50% or 0.26 to hit $52.14 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.98% or 12.75 to trade at $1288.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.1751, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8771.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 93.19.
