Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 1.92% or 0.0940 points to trade at 4.9980 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.95% or 0.1700 points to end at 8.8800 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 1.13% or 0.0340 points to 3.0380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which lost 2.45% or 0.240 points to trade at 9.540 in late trade. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 0.42% or 0.0150 points to end at 3.5150 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 0.80% or 0.0021 points to 0.2596.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.38% or 1.01 to $74.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.84% or 1.26 to hit $69.75 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.45% or 5.50 to trade at $1217.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1563, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 95.15.
