Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 3.09% or 0.1590 points to trade at 5.3000 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 1.57% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.3890 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.52% or 0.0037 points to 0.2479 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which lost 1.28% or 0.0690 points to trade at 5.3110 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 1.27% or 0.0110 points to end at 0.8570 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 1.14% or 0.0380 points to 3.2850.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 18 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.47% or 0.26 to $55.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.71% or 0.35 to hit $49.64 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.81% or 10.38 to trade at $1285.28 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1749, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.51.
