Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.12% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 5.22% or 0.2600 points to trade at 5.2400 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 4.38% or 0.2800 points to end at 6.6700 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 3.48% or 0.6600 points to 19.6400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 2.72% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.2863 in late trade. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 1.90% or 0.0940 points to end at 4.8520 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 1.85% or 0.0050 points to 0.2655.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 0.88% or 0.69 to $78.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $70.89 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.96% or 25.90 to trade at $1292.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1872, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8781.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 92.95.
