Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 1.14% or 0.0033 points to trade at 0.2924 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 0.43% or 0.0750 points to end at 17.4000 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 0.42% or 0.0300 points to 7.1000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which lost 0.96% or 0.0440 points to trade at 4.5500 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 0.87% or 0.0350 points to end at 3.9850 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 0.85% or 0.0300 points to 3.4900.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.26% or 0.18 to $69.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.39% or 0.25 to hit $63.98 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.16% or 2.10 to trade at $1335.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.2238, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.8846.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 90.31.
