Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.86% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.3240 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 2.08% or 0.0490 points to end at 2.4080 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.22% or 0.2000 points to 16.6600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 1.68% or 0.0037 points to trade at 0.2163 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 1.06% or 0.0080 points to end at 0.7500 and EDP (LS:EDP) shed 1.03% or 0.0330 points to 3.1850.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 14 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.85% or 0.44 to $51.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $46.49 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 5.53 to trade at $1313.37 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.57% to 1.1904, while EUR/GBP fell 0.62% to 0.9208.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 92.74.
