Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Media, Basic Materials and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.37% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 6.76% or 0.81 points to trade at 12.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 3.60% or 2.06 points to end at 59.26 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was up 1.82% or 121.15 points to 6781.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which fell 3.29% or 0.80 points to trade at 23.50 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 2.81% or 0.19 points to end at 6.58 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was down 2.64% or 3.40 points to 125.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 314 to 210 and 112 ended unchanged.
Shares in ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.64% or 3.40 to 125.60.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.38% or 1.32 to $54.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 3.14% or 1.90 to hit $58.42 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1167.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.36% to 4.2043, while USD/PLN rose 0.55% to 3.7927.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 96.24.
