Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.18% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 7.49% or 3.20 points to trade at 45.90 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 4.97% or 0.42 points to end at 8.87 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 4.69% or 0.46 points to 10.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which lost 3.65% or 3.23 points to trade at 85.22 in late trade. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) declined 3.37% or 0.28 points to end at 8.02 and mBank (WA:MBK) shed 3.13% or 13.60 points to 421.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 279 to 179 and 184 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.40% or 1.60 to $68.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.66% or 2.01 to hit $77.50 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.40 to trade at $1302.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.60% to 4.3085, while USD/PLN fell 1.63% to 3.6951.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.79% at 94.06.
