Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.52% or 1.80 points to trade at 73.20 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 1.26% or 0.12 points to end at 9.62 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 1.22% or 4.35 points to 361.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which lost 4.25% or 5.36 points to trade at 120.61 in late trade. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 4.14% or 0.57 points to end at 13.20 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) shed 3.59% or 0.48 points to 12.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 274 to 227 and 171 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.06% or 0.03 to $50.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $56.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.40% or 18.47 to trade at $1297.93 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.02% to 4.2763, while USD/PLN fell 0.42% to 3.5808.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 91.97.
