Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 3.07% or 0.24 points to trade at 8.05 at the close. CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) added 2.81% or 1.41 points to end at 51.66 and PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 1.98% or 0.50 points to 25.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which lost 3.10% or 1.16 points to trade at 36.29 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 2.32% or 4.55 points to end at 191.80 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) shed 2.09% or 6.10 points to 285.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 263 to 259 and 189 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.53% or 0.27 to $51.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.32% or 0.17 to hit $54.11 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.71% or 8.25 to trade at $1177.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.04% to 4.4870, while USD/PLN fell 0.09% to 4.2067.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 100.85.
