Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 4.06% or 3.36 points to trade at 86.09 at the close. Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) added 3.87% or 4.46 points to end at 119.66 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 3.48% or 2.40 points to 71.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which lost 1.79% or 0.80 points to trade at 44.00 in late trade. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 1.05% or 0.25 points to end at 23.45 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) shed 0.75% or 0.07 points to 9.23.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 238 to 194 and 179 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.34% or 0.22 to $64.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.82% or 0.62 to hit $74.67 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 3.60 to trade at $1300.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.15% to 4.2802, while USD/PLN rose 0.06% to 3.6555.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.91.
