Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Developers, Banking and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 4.14% or 2.80 points to trade at 70.40 at the close. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) added 2.70% or 10.00 points to end at 380.00 and mBank (WA:MBK) was up 2.70% or 10.60 points to 403.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which lost 4.89% or 10.60 points to trade at 206.20 in late trade. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 2.13% or 0.18 points to end at 8.29 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) shed 1.99% or 0.74 points to 36.36.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 220 to 208 and 198 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.25% or 0.17 to $67.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.12% or 0.09 to hit $74.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.76% or 9.20 to trade at $1194.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.41% to 4.2882, while USD/PLN rose 0.74% to 3.7093.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 95.41.
