Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which rose 4.17% or 4.80 points to trade at 119.88 at the close. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 4.12% or 0.200 points to end at 5.050 and PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) was up 3.83% or 2.20 points to 59.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which lost 3.87% or 1.49 points to trade at 37.00 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 2.99% or 8.80 points to end at 285.05 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) shed 1.50% or 0.70 points to 45.99.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 257 to 234 and 164 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.00% or 1.00 to $50.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.44% or 1.36 to hit $57.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 1.29 to trade at $1275.51 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.08% to 4.3006, while USD/PLN rose 0.53% to 3.6738.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 93.75.
