Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining & Oil, Holding Firms and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Ayala Land Inc (PS:ALI), which rose 2.49% or 1.100 points to trade at 45.350 at the close. Petron Corp (PS:PCOR) added 1.56% or 0.150 points to end at 9.750 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) was up 0.84% or 2.40 points to 287.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Emperador Inc (PS:EMP), which lost 3.19% or 0.260 points to trade at 7.900 in late trade. International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) declined 2.38% or 2.700 points to end at 110.800 and Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) shed 2.02% or 1.550 points to 75.250.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 112 to 88 and 54 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1342.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.37% or 0.24 to hit $64.97 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.11 to trade at $69.00 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.32% to 8.1939, while USD/PHP rose 0.43% to 51.587.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 88.89.
