Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining & Oil, Industrials and Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.19% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co (PS:MBT), which rose 2.72% or 2.60 points to trade at 98.10 at the close. GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP) added 2.32% or 30.00 points to end at 1325.00 and Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) was up 2.00% or 0.150 points to 7.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC), which lost 3.08% or 9.00 points to trade at 283.00 in late trade. DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) declined 2.90% or 0.400 points to end at 13.400 and Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) shed 1.40% or 0.50 points to 35.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 118 to 93 and 36 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.65% or 8.60 to $1324.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.44% or 0.85 to hit $60.05 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.21% or 0.76 to trade at $63.55 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.01% to 8.2044, while USD/PHP rose 0.70% to 51.924.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 90.12.
