Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Services, Mining & Oil and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC), which rose 2.16% or 6.00 points to trade at 284.00 at the close. Ayala Corp (PS:AC) added 2.12% or 19.50 points to end at 938.50 and BDO Unibank Inc (PS:BDO) was up 1.56% or 2.10 points to 136.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which lost 3.51% or 40.00 points to trade at 1100.00 in late trade. Bank of the Philippine Islands (PS:BPI) declined 2.87% or 3.10 points to end at 105.00 and Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) shed 2.87% or 1.950 points to 66.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 137 to 70 and 44 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.06% or 0.80 to $1339.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.26% or 0.80 to hit $64.22 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.28% or 0.88 to trade at $69.53 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.06% to 8.2530, while USD/PHP fell 0.03% to 51.986.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 89.53.
