Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Industrials and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Petron Corp (PS:PCOR), which rose 2.90% or 0.280 points to trade at 9.930 at the close. Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) added 2.07% or 1.500 points to end at 74.050 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) was up 1.83% or 0.320 points to 17.820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Emperador Inc (PS:EMP), which lost 6.85% or 0.520 points to trade at 7.070 in late trade. Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) declined 1.83% or 38.00 points to end at 2042.00 and International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) shed 1.81% or 1.900 points to 103.300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 133 to 66 and 45 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.91% or 11.46 to $1274.06 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.12% or 0.06 to hit $49.23 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.03 to trade at $52.17 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.49% to 7.5776, while USD/PHP rose 0.32% to 50.600.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.52.
