Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Property and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 1.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC), which rose 4.77% or 0.900 points to trade at 19.780 at the close. DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) added 3.48% or 0.380 points to end at 11.300 and SM Prime Holdings Inc (PS:SMPH) was up 2.78% or 1.000 points to 37.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petron Corp (PS:PCOR), which lost 1.56% or 0.140 points to trade at 8.850 in late trade. First Gen Corp (PS:FGEN) declined 0.95% or 0.14 points to end at 14.66 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) shed 0.89% or 0.160 points to 17.800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 100 to 98 and 56 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.36% or 4.50 to $1258.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.23% or 0.17 to hit $73.97 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $77.94 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.44% to 8.0607, while USD/PHP rose 0.03% to 53.393.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 94.38.
