Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Holding Firms and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 4.92% or 1.55 points to trade at 33.05 at the close. Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) added 3.39% or 59.00 points to end at 1799.00 and Manila Electric Co (PS:MER) was up 3.35% or 12.00 points to 370.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BDO Unibank Inc (PS:BDO), which lost 1.45% or 1.90 points to trade at 129.00 in late trade. Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC) declined 1.16% or 0.060 points to end at 5.100 and Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC) shed 0.76% or 1.00 points to 131.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 105 to 92 and 42 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.14% or 1.70 to $1223.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $67.97 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $73.02 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.42% to 7.8403, while USD/PHP fell 0.05% to 53.406.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 94.44.
