Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Mining & Oil and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO), which rose 3.90% or 60.00 points to trade at 1600.00 at the close. DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) added 3.81% or 0.400 points to end at 10.900 and SM Investments Corp (PS:SM) was up 2.86% or 25.00 points to 900.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV), which lost 2.75% or 1.500 points to trade at 53.000 in late trade. Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) declined 2.71% or 0.200 points to end at 7.190 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) shed 1.14% or 3.00 points to 260.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 93 and 40 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.37% or 4.70 to $1249.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.46% or 0.34 to hit $73.81 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.07% or 0.85 to trade at $78.38 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.39% to 8.0247, while USD/PHP rose 0.15% to 53.425.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 94.56.
