Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Banking & Financials and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC), which rose 9.98% or 2.000 points to trade at 22.050 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) added 6.81% or 0.310 points to end at 4.860 and Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) was up 6.11% or 93.00 points to 1616.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petron Corp (PS:PCOR), which lost 3.70% or 0.340 points to trade at 8.850 in late trade. Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) declined 2.78% or 1.650 points to end at 57.800 and Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC) shed 2.51% or 3.30 points to 128.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 100 and 41 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.25% or 3.20 to $1304.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.51% or 0.35 to hit $67.86 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.31 to trade at $77.41 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.23% to 8.2058, while USD/PHP fell 0.06% to 52.530.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 93.75.
