Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Mining & Oil and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.19% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO), which rose 8.76% or 153.00 points to trade at 1899.00 at the close. PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) added 6.52% or 98.00 points to end at 1601.00 and Petron Corp (PS:PCOR) was up 5.10% or 0.470 points to 9.680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Emperador Inc (PS:EMP), which lost 3.45% or 0.300 points to trade at 8.400 in late trade. Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC) declined 2.60% or 0.550 points to end at 20.600 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) shed 2.33% or 6.80 points to 285.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 116 to 95 and 55 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.51% or 6.90 to $1345.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.24% or 0.16 to hit $66.30 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.15 to trade at $70.00 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.26% to 8.0906, while USD/PHP rose 0.43% to 51.182.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 89.05.
