Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Electricity, Services and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which rose 6.35% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.670 at the close. Panoro (LM:PML) added 3.57% or 0.005 points to end at 0.145 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) was up 3.03% or 0.010 points to 0.340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE), which lost 5.56% or 0.300 points to trade at 5.100 in late trade. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 5.16% or 0.620 points to end at 11.400 and Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) shed 4.76% or 0.030 points to 0.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 9 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.71% or 0.31 to $43.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $44.71 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.25% or 3.10 to trade at $1221.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.87% to 3.4330, while EUR/PEN fell 1.29% to 3.6526.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.02% at 100.00.
