Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Industrials and S&P Lima Juniors sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 1.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which rose 5.77% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.0550 at the close. Bco Continenta (LM:CON) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 4.100 and Compania Minera Milpo SAA Class I (LM:MILi) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 2.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which lost 8.96% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.610 in late trade. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) declined 7.14% or 0.060 points to end at 0.780 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) shed 6.76% or 0.029 points to 0.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 30 to 3 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 4.78% or 3.54 to $70.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $74.12 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.08% or 13.60 to trade at $1241.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.33% to 3.2800, while EUR/PEN fell 0.01% to 3.8363.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.67% at 94.48.
