Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.75% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC), which rose 3.37% or 1.28 points to trade at 39.28 at the close. Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) added 2.70% or 0.200 points to end at 7.600 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was up 2.02% or 0.050 points to 2.520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Minsur (LM:MINi), which lost 2.88% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.350 in late trade. PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) unchanged 2.17% or 0.00 points to end at 0.04 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 1.85% or 0.010 points to 0.530.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 9 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 4.86% or 2.25 to $48.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.22% or 0.11 to hit $50.72 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 3.86 to trade at $1250.44 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2510, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7828.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.92.
