Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 1.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 6.50% or 0.800 points to trade at 13.100 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 3.85% or 0.020 points to end at 0.540 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) was up 3.85% or 0.015 points to 0.405 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which lost 4.76% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.800 in late trade. Intergroup (LM:IFS) declined 4.64% or 1.800 points to end at 37.000 and Compania Minera Milpo SAA Class I (LM:MILi) shed 3.74% or 0.080 points to 2.060.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 13 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.53% or 1.06 to $70.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $79.73 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.78% or 9.40 to trade at $1211.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.23% to 3.3302, while EUR/PEN rose 0.14% to 3.8735.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 94.82.
