Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and S&P Lima Juniors sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE), which rose 1.75% or 0.100 points to trade at 5.800 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 1.54% or 0.010 points to end at 0.660 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) was up 1.54% or 0.006 points to 0.396 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG), which lost 7.69% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.200 in late trade. Minsur (LM:MINi) declined 5.81% or 0.090 points to end at 1.460 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) shed 3.85% or 0.080 points to 2.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 9 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.12% or 0.09 to $74.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $77.45 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.93% or 11.70 to trade at $1242.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.45% to 3.2908, while EUR/PEN fell 0.16% to 3.8188.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 94.60.
