Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.07% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 3.90% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.213 at the close. Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) added 1.77% or 0.020 points to end at 1.150 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 1.61% or 0.010 points to 0.630 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Compania Minera Milpo SAA Class I (LM:MILi), which lost 5.17% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.750 in late trade. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) declined 4.60% or 0.040 points to end at 0.830 and Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) shed 4.17% or 0.005 points to 0.115.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 10 and 18 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.11% or 0.76 to $69.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.61% or 0.45 to hit $74.50 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.30 to trade at $1231.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.01% to 3.2730, while EUR/PEN fell 0.03% to 3.8228.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 93.98.
