Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Non-Metal Minerals and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which rose 5.09% or 1.120 points to trade at 23.120 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) added 4.00% or 0.060 points to end at 1.560 and Sider (LM:SID) was up 1.70% or 0.010 points to 0.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which lost 2.91% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.100 in late trade. Rimac Seguros y Reaseguros (LM:RSR) declined 2.40% or 0.030 points to end at 1.220 and Candente Copper (LM:DNT) shed 1.72% or 0.0010 points to 0.0570.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 12 and 15 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.69% or 1.16 to $69.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.06% or 0.05 to hit $77.70 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.60 to trade at $1212.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.06% to 3.2956, while EUR/PEN fell 0.04% to 3.8577.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 94.46.
