Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which rose 5.00% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.105 at the close. Candente Copper (LM:DNT) added 4.00% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.0520 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) was up 3.90% or 0.150 points to 4.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atacocha (LM:ATB), which lost 6.25% or 0.028 points to trade at 0.420 in late trade. Unacem (LM:CEL) declined 5.22% or 0.120 points to end at 2.180 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) shed 3.71% or 1.65 points to 42.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 11 and 16 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 3.03% or 2.22 to $75.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $84.95 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.30% or 3.60 to trade at $1192.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.24% to 3.3074, while EUR/PEN fell 0.13% to 3.8265.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.92.
