Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Materials and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.83% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which rose 5.38% or 0.08 points to trade at 1.47 at the close. Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) added 3.72% or 1.61 points to end at 44.89 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) was up 2.43% or 0.70 points to 29.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DNO International ASA (OL:DNO), which lost 2.02% or 0.19 points to trade at 8.97 in late trade. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) declined 1.71% or 0.5 points to end at 27.1 and Telenor ASA (OL:TEL) shed 0.38% or 0.5 points to 131.8.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 72 and 29 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.67% or 0.34 to $51.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.63% or 0.34 to hit $54.26 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.08% or 13.05 to trade at $1199.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.29% to 9.0034, while USD/NOK fell 0.23% to 8.4737.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 101.45.
