Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Media, Auto & components and Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which rose 5.93% or 4.00 points to trade at 71.53 at the close. DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) added 5.22% or 0.50 points to end at 10.02 and Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) was up 2.72% or 5.2 points to 196.5 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BW LPG Ltd (OL:BWLPG), which lost 4.44% or 1.70 points to trade at 36.55 in late trade. P/f Bakkafrost (OL:BAKKA) declined 3.11% or 10.60 points to end at 330.00 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) shed 2.62% or 1.64 points to 61.06.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 79 and 27 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.79% or 1.08 to $61.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 1.56% or 1.04 to hit $67.61 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 2.10 to trade at $1318.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.39% to 9.7607, while USD/NOK fell 0.17% to 8.1132.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 91.78.
