Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Media and Software & Computer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS), which rose 2.44% or 0.72 points to trade at 30.10 at the close. DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) added 2.41% or 0.22 points to end at 9.35 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was up 1.78% or 0.74 points to 42.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aker BP ASA (OL:AKERBP), which lost 2.38% or 3.70 points to trade at 151.70 in late trade. BW LPG Ltd (OL:BWLPG) declined 1.93% or 0.77 points to end at 39.03 and Telenor ASA (OL:TEL) shed 1.92% or 2.6 points to 132.5.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 90 to 80 and 31 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.02% or 0.53 to $51.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.31% or 0.72 to hit $54.22 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.18% or 2.10 to trade at $1187.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.66% to 9.0885, while USD/NOK rose 0.69% to 8.5980.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 101.91.
