Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Support Services, Media and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.74%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Philips Kon (AMS:PHG), which rose 1.20% or 0.29 points to trade at 24.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) added 0.22% or 0.04 points to end at 15.71 and ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) was down 0.72% or 0.06 points to 7.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Relx NV (AMS:RELX), which fell 3.26% or 0.485 points to trade at 14.390 at the close. Randstad (AMS:RAND) declined 3.14% or 1.95 points to end at 60.22 and Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) was down 2.89% or 3.40 points to 114.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 182 to 32 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 0.72% or 0.06 to 7.81.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 14.88% to 19.85.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.33% or 0.64 to $47.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.75% or 0.95 to hit $53.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.95% or 10.30 to trade at $1096.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.16% to 1.1112, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.7137.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.86% at 96.51.
