Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Media, Telecoms and Support Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AMS:WLSNc), which rose 6.18% or 1.73 points to trade at 29.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) added 4.10% or 4.70 points to end at 119.30 and KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) was up 3.66% or 0.127 points to 3.598 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Groep (AMS:ING), which fell 1.06% or 0.165 points to trade at 15.345 at the close. Boskalis Westmin (AMS:BOSN) declined 1.06% or 0.47 points to end at 43.70 and Gemalto (AMS:GTO) was down 0.98% or 0.77 points to 77.65.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 154 to 66 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.66% or 0.127 to 3.598.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.28% to 18.27.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.52% or 1.21 to $49.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.08% or 0.57 to hit $53.88 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.10 to trade at $1095.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1024, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.7056.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 96.96.
