Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 4.67% or 0.14 points to trade at 3.16 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) added 0.96% or 1.80 points to end at 189.65 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) was up 0.94% or 0.39 points to 42.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which lost 1.36% or 0.49 points to trade at 35.84 in late trade. Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) declined 1.13% or 0.28 points to end at 24.48 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) shed 1.12% or 0.222 points to 19.680.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 73 to 51 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 10.83% to 14.88 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.78% or 1.21 to $66.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.16% or 0.89 to hit $75.58 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 6.40 to trade at $1297.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1628, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8736.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 94.36.
