Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 1.05% or 0.40 points to trade at 38.15 at the close. Relx NV (AS:RELN) added 1.00% or 0.165 points to end at 16.700 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 0.65% or 1.40 points to 218.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon (AS:AEGN), which lost 2.70% or 0.139 points to trade at 5.009 in late trade. NN Group (AS:NN) declined 2.51% or 0.74 points to end at 28.96 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) shed 2.22% or 0.191 points to 8.416.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 63 to 57 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.31% to 14.18.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.59% or 0.85 to $54.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.33% or 0.74 to hit $56.58 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.40% or 17.30 to trade at $1250.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0579, while EUR/GBP fell 0.62% to 0.8427.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 100.98.
