Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND), which rose 3.25% or 1.71 points to trade at 54.27 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 2.07% or 0.32 points to end at 15.79 and SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) was up 1.06% or 0.16 points to 15.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 3.37% or 1.22 points to trade at 34.99 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.53% or 0.27 points to end at 17.42 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) shed 1.13% or 0.255 points to 22.265.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 62 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.55% to 11.32.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.90% or 1.44 to $51.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.94% or 1.08 to hit $56.87 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.66% or 8.49 to trade at $1293.49 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.1801, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8932.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 93.08.
