Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 2.93% or 1.62 points to trade at 56.90 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) added 1.62% or 0.395 points to end at 24.820 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) was up 1.52% or 1.80 points to 120.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which lost 1.27% or 0.47 points to trade at 36.84 in late trade. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) declined 1.11% or 2.45 points to end at 218.20 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 1.01% or 0.23 points to 21.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 47 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.76% to 13.21.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.64% or 0.88 to $54.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.33% or 0.75 to hit $56.93 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1239.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.0549, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.8464.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 101.36.
