Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.50% or 0.560 points to trade at 23.000 at the close. Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) added 2.40% or 1.53 points to end at 65.26 and Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) was up 1.55% or 0.76 points to 49.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 5.47% or 2.48 points to trade at 42.91 in late trade. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) declined 1.17% or 2.50 points to end at 211.05 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) shed 0.54% or 0.016 points to 2.955.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 90 to 37 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.17% to 12.13.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.25% or 0.12 to $47.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.45% or 0.24 to hit $52.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.73 to trade at $1328.93 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1877, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.9160.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 92.69.
