Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Forestry & Paper, Holding Companies and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares lost 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Taslif (CS:TSF1), which rose 5.99% or 1.57 points to trade at 27.79 at the close. Timar (CS:TIM) added 5.77% or 15.00 points to end at 275.00 and CTM (CS:CTM) was up 4.10% or 26.00 points to 660.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Med Paper (CS:PAP), which lost 6.58% or 2.43 points to trade at 34.51 in late trade. Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) declined 5.38% or 3.07 points to end at 54.03 and Alliances (CS:ADI) shed 4.60% or 6 points to 119.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 22 and 5 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.24% or 1.18 to $53.93 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 2.40% or 1.32 to hit $56.40 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.96% or 11.45 to trade at $1186.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.33% to 10.7220, while USD/MAD rose 0.62% to 10.0528.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.72% at 100.63.
