Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate, Chemicals and Forestry & Paper sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares lost 0.43% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Fenie Brossette (CS:FBR), which rose 4.15% or 6.85 points to trade at 171.85 at the close. IB Maroc Com SA (CS:IBC) added 3.21% or 3.85 points to end at 123.85 and Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) was up 2.02% or 0.99 points to 49.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alliances (CS:ADI), which lost 8.35% or 20 points to trade at 220 in late trade. Promopharm S.A. (CS:PRO) declined 5.98% or 89 points to end at 1400 and SMI (CS:SMI) shed 5.69% or 193 points to 3200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 30 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.29% or 0.17 to $58.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.20% or 0.13 to hit $64.69 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 1.20 to trade at $1270.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.01% to 11.1750, while USD/MAD fell 0.03% to 9.4108.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 92.89.
