Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction & Building Materials, Utilities and Forestry & Paper sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares gained 0.60% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were LafargeHolcim Maroc (CS:LHM), which rose 5.32% or 116 points to trade at 2296 at the close. Marsa Maroc SA (CS:MSA) added 3.37% or 2.95 points to end at 90.50 and Lydec (CS:LYD) was up 3.27% or 16.00 points to 506.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Involys (CS:INV), which lost 4.76% or 5.00 points to trade at 100.00 in late trade. Snep (CS:SNP) declined 4.40% or 4.00 points to end at 87.00 and Delattre Levivier Maroc (CS:DLM) shed 3.30% or 5.80 points to 170.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 24 to 11 and 8 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.15% or 0.59 to $50.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.41% or 0.75 to hit $52.39 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.21% or 2.65 to trade at $1257.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.23% to 10.8510, while USD/MAD rose 0.39% to 9.8045.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.74% at 97.63.
